Holly is SO CUTE!!!

I just can't get enough of Holly...EXCEPT when it is very late at night and she just screams for NO REASON. Man, babies are work. I thought we could just live on Love and all would be well. I thought I could just hold my baby and she would calm down and sleep and smile and do what normal babies do! I thought I could tell holly to be quiet and she would. I thought if I told her to sit, she would sit! Hummphh

Baby Holly has Arrived!!!

Happy Birthday to Baby Holly! We weren't quite expecting her to come today, but about 2:30am, Eileen woke me up and told me her water broke. So we rushed over to the hospital to be checked out. They did a few tests on her to prove that it really was amniotic fluid. All of the tests came back negative! But Eileen insisted that it was her water that broke. So they did some expensive test that is going to cost us like a thousand bucks! But it came back positive, meaning that it really WAS amniotic fluid. So they checked her in!

She wasn't even dilated hardly at all at this point, so they waited for a few hours to do anything...just to see what was going to happen. At 6:00 am, they came in and gave her some pill that goes up the birth place and sort of ripens the cervix for dilation. They told us that some women take 1-3 tablets to start dilating. It only took her 1 tablet and she was at a 2! I went home for a few hours to sleep since I was dead, and nothing was going to take place for quite a while. So she tried to relax and I slept.

About 10:30 am I came back and they had started her on the Petosin (or however you spell it). So I hung around for a while until about 12:00pm. I then went and studied over across the street from the hospital with a couple of my friends because UNFORTUNATELY, baby holly didn't listen to our little pep talks and came today instead of Friday Afternoon, like we had previously discussed! I have a big final I have to take on Friday morning. So I studied for a few hours. When I got back to the hospital, Eileen had a catheter and an epidural because of the pain. Luckily through her entire pregnancy, she was lucky enough to not feel the TRUE Contractions that really hurt until today. So she felt a few hours worth and she had it. So bring on the meds!

We just hung around until about 5:00, when the doctors came in. They got her into position and told her we are going to start pushing now. So she pushed and pushed and pushed! Come to find out, Baby Holly was coming out head first face UP instead of DOWN like she was supposed to. So she had a pretty rough labor, but to spare the graphic details, she was born at 5:53pm, she weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces, and was 20" long. She had a big head after her dad. I guess not any bigger than normal, but it was pretty big. We are very excited to be parents. I'm not sure what to think right at the moment. But Baby Holly is a good baby. Eileen nursed her after 2 seconds of trying. She latched right on with no problems at all. So we struck out with a good one! So there you go, there's the update. I just realized that I didn't get too many face pictures, so I'll take more and put them up later! Cheers! I'm a dad!!!

Pregnant Eileen

Eileen is 37 weeks pregnant now! Man, how time flies. I don't know where the time goes, but we're gonna be parents in a few weeks. I think Eileen is just about ready to have her body back and her bladder all to herself!

Doesn't she have a cute belly? This is the ONLY time I can tease her by calling her fat!

Ok, I think I have thoroughly embarrassed eileen enought. She is very cute!

Prop 8 and Politics

Man, This time of year really gets me riled up. When I was first married, I HATED POLITICS. I guess my wonderful wife has been rubbing off on me. I am now paying more attention to what's going on in the world. The latest thing I have been watching is Proposition 8 passing in California. I'm sure glad it did, but man the church has been dealing with a lot of backlash for promoting it so much. But I guess my opinion is that if the Prophet told us to support it, then he can see something that we can't and we should support it also. They don't call him a Prophet, Seer and Revelator for just being a title!
My Father-in Law is over living right outside San Fransisco and he was telling us that all the pro-gay people were picketing all weekend and it was so bad over there right now that he didn't go to church yesterday because of all the pickets around the temple and the churches there. There have even been people spray-painting and vandalizing the churches. I'm sure the Prophet saw this coming and he's still pretty confident in the world, so I wouldn't worry too much. We all know it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, so just be prepared. I say a prayer for all!

Eileen's Baby Shower

This weekend, Eileen had her baby shower. We were excited for this because we really didn't have a lot for the baby yet, so we were ready to get some things for baby girl. It was from 1-3pm on Saturday. I (Scott) disappeared during this time because I knew it was going to be something girly and I didn't want to hear all of the "OOOOHHHH's and AAAWWWWWSSSS". So I went and did something manly with my friend...I shot guns at the gun range. He has a shotgun that about took off my shoulder when shooting it, but that's besides the point.

Anyways, Eileen had a great time. She got lots of clothes for baby girl. We got lots of blankets also, which is good I guess because it will be cold in a couple of months and she needs to be warm. We got baby spoons to feed baby. We got toys, more clothes, diapers, other important accessories for baby as well as lotion and other things. So we were very happy to get all of this. Now we have to put it away somewhere. We have so much junk in our house that I don't know where to put it. Happy us!

Many Thanks to Heidi Myers for putting this baby shower on for Eileen. She put a lot of hard work and effort and money probably into this and we are sure appreciative of her to drive all the way from Idaho Falls to Pocatello in order to spend a few hours with us. Thanks Heidi, we really appreciate it!!!

Where I have Visited in the U.S.A

I was reading Aunt Joyce's Post and she had a picture of all the states she has visited. I was curious about where I have visited, so i clicked on the map and made up my own and here it is... Eileen wanted to do the same, so her's is included as well. Boy did we grow up in different worlds!

SCOTT'S STATES

visited 18 states (36%)
Create your own visited map of The United States

EILEEN'S STATES

visited 29 states (58%)
Create your own visited map of The United States

We are doing something a little different. We want to visit all of the United States, but we want to visit all of the state's mountain HIGHPOINTS. If you look below left on this main blog page, we have a picture of all the state Highpoints we have visited so far. For those of you who are lazy...here's the pic...

If you click on this picture, or the same picture down on the left, I am working on Trip Reports for each State we have visited. I need to update it, so sorry if it's older and doesn't look the prettiest!

Pregnant Eileen Part 2

It's been a few weeks since I posted updated pictures of Pregnant Eileen, so here are a few. She really is letting herself go these days!!! :-)

I am not 100% sure, but I think Eileen is NOT having the greatest time being pregnant. I am just guessing, but she always complains about back pains, and feet pains, and that she can't breathe. She also has been complaining of sharp backbone pains, which is weird.

The other day, Eileen all of a sudden jumped and screamed, right out of the blue. She said that little baby girl tickled her! Yup, she was tickling Eileen from the inside. She said it was a fun feeling, so that's a good experience. I like to feel baby girl move. If we poke into her baby stomach, most times, baby will poke back. That's kind of fun. Eileen is like 31 weeks right now, and I think she is ready to have this baby. She is tired of waking up 3-5 times a night to pee and not being comfortable when she lays down. She borrowed a memory foam single mattress to put on top of our bed, so she can sleep better. She said last night she slept better than the previous nights, so hopefully it helps!

Eileen is making a Baby blanket. She is learning how to Crochet. She was taught by one of my friend's wives who knows EVERYTHING about Knitting and that sort of thing. Eileen is getting absorbed with this project, because every time she sits down and has a free moment, she is knitting. These are a couple of pictures of what it looks like right now. It will really look pretty when it's done.

Poor little Squirrel

Yesterday we found this poor little squirrel in front of our house. He was lying on the side of the street squeaking and moaning. He looked like he was in a lot of pain. I don't think he could move. So Eileen took him inside our house with a towel and laid him on the counter. We tried to put some water in him, but he didn't respond. We just watched over him and looked for any signs of life.

I got creative and got my stethescope and listened for his heartbeat. I did hear it, which was kind of fun. We were debating whether we should give him Hydrocodone syrup for pain, or Tylenol, or something else, or just let him sleep. Well, he woke up a few times and squeaked and tried to get up. Long story short...at midnight, he passed away. He twitched like crazy and wet himself and then stopped. It really was kind of sad to watch.

Today Eileen buried little squirrel in the backyard. Not a good idea says me, because pepper is going to dig him up. Sure enough, once we went back inside, pepper darted outside and started digging him up. Dang dog! Anyways, that's our little sad story. Little squirrel is in heaven now!

My Friend and I went Fishing

Last week my friend Tyson and I went fishing at a place called Chesterfield Reservoir. It is really not too far from Pocatello, but it takes forever to get to it because you have to drive around a mountain range to get there. This night, the water was calm, and the fish were biting every 10 minutes or so. It was pretty awesome. We each caught 6 fish. It was awesome!

I'm Lazy

Hey all,

I am lazy when it comes to updating this blog. I have gotten back into school, so I put this blog stuff on the backburners. Let's See, what's new. We sold our investment property. Man, we were blessed with that one! It only took us 6 weeks to sell the house, and how the real-estate market is right now, that is great! We needed to sell the house quickly because we couldn't pay for next month's mortgage, and lo and behold, some old couple came by and offered to buy the house with a cashier's check for the full price we were wanting (NOT the asking price). We were asking $125k and we really wanted $120k. So we got what we wanted! We were satisfied. We just paid off some bills and there goes all our money again. Oh well.

Eileen is still pregnant...that's good. She went in for another ultrasound because the first time she went in for the ultrasound, the doctor said that the baby's kidneys were "Prominant" which means they could see them pretty well. So they wanted to do another ultrasound just to make sure that nothing was wrong with her. It was fun because we got to see our little girl again. I asked the lady to check and make sure she was still a girl. SHE IS!!! So that's good. No little boy surprises for us. Anyways, she's just as healthy as can be expected. Eileen is not having too much fun being pregnant. I am afraid she will not want to go through this ever again. Maybe not, but she's big and fat and uncomfortable and all that. I like being pregnant, it doesn't bother ME much!

What else? Oh yea, I have a boat! I got a free boat and trailor from some guy that was going to get rid of it and throw it in the trash. So I took it off his hands and am fixing it up into my own fishing boat. It will be sweet for next season. I probably won't get it ready for this year. Too much to do. But it sure compliments our crappy truck and whitetrash driveway!

Other than that, not much else is new. We are happy and healthy (for the most part) and enjoy living in the armpit of Idaho, if you can believe that! Chow for now!

Pregnant Eileen

Eileen has requested that she share her fat pictures with the world, so here they are. She is looking as cute as ever!

She is looking pregnant, and is loving every moment of it. Ok that's a lie, she's bloated, uncomfortable, not feeling pretty, feeling fat, and not very comfortable. I don't know what else she would like to say, but I am sure she would tell you like it is!
